New Samsung Processor - MediaTek

There were rumors that Samsung and Taiwanese chip and the processor producer MediaTek were in discussion with each other over the supply of processor. MediaTek has now verified that Samsung has become a client. This indicates that Samsung alone halts with the development and manufacturing of cheap processor.

MediatekLower dependency, raise production capability

Despite of the fact that it is not clear for what reason Samsung has gone straight into the agreement with MediaTek because so far Samsung handsets with MediaTek processors have never come out yet. It appears that Samsung needs to outsource the manufacturing of cheaper processors. The cheaper device from Samsung are now powered by Samsung’s own Exynos or processor from Qualcomm. On the partnership between Samsung and Qualcomm, there have been speculations that Samsung might like to lower the dependency on Qualcomm.
